Hideout is not a luxury hotel, it is truly an adventurous, rustic and authentic experience right in the middle of Balinese village life. Hideout is a perfect place for long-time adventurers, nature lovers, spiritually minded people, trekking lovers, backpackers, musicians, artists and environmentalists for their unique experience in Bali. We love the environment-minded guests, who look after our little bamboo house with love and care.
If you read further, you will find a lot of important and interesting information, but for those in a hurry, here is some important information to know!
1. Breakfast is included in the price, served in house (lunch and dinner can be ordered from Hideout Bistro for an additional fee, vegan options too.)
2. Free scooter during your stay!
3. There are kitchen utensils, unlimited drinking water, a refrigerator equipped with cold Bintang.
4. Big comfortable bed with mosquito net, wifi, in house music stereo system and hot shower!
5. We can help arrange your transportation, find the right guide for you, give you the best in-house Balinese massage or arrange a great cooking class at Hideout Bistro.
6. Check in from 15.00, please don't come late at night. Check out at 11.00.
7. We are in the middle of the forest, please expect some wildlife.
Due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic:
- All guests will be measured with a professional contactless thermometer to measure their body temperature. If their body temperature is repeatedly measured and it is above 37.5 Celsius, they are not allowed to check in as this could be a sign of the ongoing illness i.e. COVID19.
- All guests will sign a statement of their current health status.
- All guests must wear a face mask during check-in/check-out or when dealing with our team.
- The house is cleaned and sanitized every time there are guests.
- We provide hand sanitizer at home.
This building has two floors, on the first floor, you can find a neat and well-equipped kitchen with utensils, a comfortable living/relaxation area (with an extra hammock), wardrobe with safety box, bathroom and entrance to the door. Outdoor shower. On the second floor, there is a spacious bedroom, providing a king size bed with mosquito net. Right in front of the quirky triangular window, there are several bean bags for reading, cuddling and relaxing, the perfect place to meditate or play a musical instrument, all with direct views of the sparkling river. Bamboo is famous for its stable temperature, thanks to its natural ventilation, there is no need for air conditioning or fans. It can be very cold here.
In the kitchen, you will always find Balinese coffee, tea, sugar, salt and some spices. If you don't feel like cooking, don't worry, we have the delicious Hideout Bistro - a kitchen concept! We provide breakfast (included in the price), lunch and dinner, and everything can be delivered to your door. We don't have restaurant seating yet, but you can enjoy your meal in privacy at Hideout.
Free scooter! During your stay you will have one simple, basic and old scooter with two helmets. If you are a motorcycle racer you may be disappointed. Always provide new towels and sheets.

What's so amazing about staying at the Hideout?
All homes at Hideout have their own private garden, and we try to do the best we can to provide you with complete privacy and solitude. The nearest family stall is 5-15 minutes away, easy to reach by scooter or on foot. We love music. That's why we provide you with a great music stereo system and traditional Balinese musical instrument equipment. Hideout is also a refuge for a cat named Kikky, who is very cute and cuddly. You will also meet our friendly dog Hockey. They are the best safety at night. Don't book Hideout, if you have allergies or if you don't want to be near animals.
You can experience Balinese life, cultural customs and observe many beautiful things in Nature. Especially in the river which is sometimes used as a place for cleansing ceremonies and baths. This is an extraordinary thing to experience. You can't lock the bamboo house, you can close the garden door from the inside.
Hideout is within walking distance of the resort where you can enjoy a nice dinner with an unforgettable view of Mount Agung. You can easily reach many traditional small shops/warung. There are lots of things nearby to explore on foot or by bicycle. Just to mention, you can go trekking through the rice fields, explore the local Jagasatru waterfall, visit Tirta Gangga, Pura Ujung, go snorkelling or diving, visit the night market, visit the local shaman or temple, go for an experience to Besakih Temple, have a wild day rafting and much more.
The river that surrounds the land is very clean. You can swim in the natural swimming pool provided by the river. Here you can observe many amazing animal species, lizards of many sizes, huge size butterflies, everything you can count like dragonflies and fireflies, chameleons, birds of all colors and not to forget our cats Kikka and dogs Hockey and Tracy. It is a unique experience to fall asleep watching the fireflies right behind your window.
The view from this house focuses directly on the most sacred place in the vicinity, namely Campuhan. Campuhan is a term for a place in Bali where two rivers meet. This place is considered by the locals as a sacred place for centuries. It is a source of holy water for ceremonies and cleansing of body and soul. During your stay, you will get the chance to observe the Balinese during their ceremonies and baths. Campuhan is a magical place, attracting a good aura and positive energy.
